ABOUT US

AIMS

To raise awareness about socio-political and environmental issues in Hong Kong, China and the rest of the world through discussion and debate.

As a society, we define ourselves as an intellectual community that is not only aware of our surroundings, but is also motivated to constantly engage in new challenges. We as a society strive to arouse students’ interest in the socio-economic and geopolitical areas by encouraging our fellow peers to examine these social issues in multiple perspectives through various activities.

To benefit the underprivileged through social service activities such as volunteering and fundraising.

We provide numerous opportunities for our members to help those in need. Understanding how privileged we are as university students in a stimulating learning environment, we not only cherish the opportunities given but would also like to give back to our society. There is no better way to gain a thorough insight into our society than working hand-in-hand with various stakeholders to tackle different social problems. Therefore, we organize different service programmes throughout the year for our members to enrich their experience outside classrooms.

To provide a platform for students to be exposed to information about careers development.

UCLPASS also provides a wide range of mentorship programs and career-oriented opportunities for UCL students. We aspire to provide students with guidance and support. We establish ties with firms from various industries and organize a number of careers events, including mentorship programmes, skill sessions and firm visits, with the aim of maximizing members’ exposure to careers opportunities.

To collaborate with other societies and universities so as to promote the exchange of ideas.

Through our society, we engage and interact across universities with other students to widen our horizons and perspectives in the discussion and exchanging of ideas. We venture to strengthen the bonds within our society as well as the bonds between our members and peers from other societies and universities.
